I read that people already complained about a game-breaking bug of the anchor disappearing back in 2016, and it still has not been fixed. Somehow the anchor just disappears, you cannot get it back ,and you cannot advance in the game without it. I'm highly disappointed that this kind of bug has been sitting in the game since 2016 and the devs have not bothered to fix it. Stay away from this waste of time.. I'd like to recommend that game, but can't for two reasons:1) It's very haphazardly, you don't really know who you are, and why you do the things you do.2) more important: game-breaking bug(s?) At one point an item can disappear without which you can't continue. Only you don't immediately realize it (can't save anyway).So, yeah, I'm bitter right now. Hence the negative review.. It's pretty short and easy. I mean it's less than 50 cents, so if yo want something to finish in a few hours, I would reccommend this.. Pretty average game. But if you get it cheap then it kills an hour or two. Recommended for the price/value.Pro's: - Music wasn't horrible or invasive.- The narrated story sections were actually ok.- Voice acting, mostly, didn't make me want to vomit and mute the game.Cons: - Doors. Urgh. They were sometimes tricky to open. Like you had to click them twice or more to just get in the next room. They also made a really annoying opening sound every time, even if yoiu just hovered the cursor over them. - The HO scenes. Nearly all the items were the sort where you have to find and use an item on something to check it off your list. This wouldn't have been so bad but it was really picky about objects, sometimes you had to click it several times for it to register that you had it selected! Which really slowed things down and was annoying.In many cases the item was also out of the viewable area. >.<- The journal, sometimes in HoG's I actually like to read the journal, but it was so oddly written that I didn't bother. Also the font just didn't suit it at all.Game length was only 2 hours even with the fiddly stuff.. Sometimes buying bargain basement games is risky and does not end well. Games this cheap can be totally for♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ particularly the casual gaming set: developers that were plagued with production problems on the back end try their best to stuff the dirt under the rug so no one would notice, but the cracks show in the light in confusing plots, some cheap-looking graphics and bad voiceovers. Make no mistake…1 Moment of Time: Silentville has all these blunders. Just look at the opening slate! But, the amateur bits of this game are forgivable. Ultimately, this is a fun game with a lot going for it.Stylistically, Silentville’s graphics appear a tad dated, but the game itself holds up, with puzzles and hidden object scenes that are varied and interesting. There are at least a dozen locations at one time to explore – with a decent map that allows you to warp to each location. You are also given a book that tracks what you have done and clues to direct you to what you have to do next. With this many locales, there is a fair bit of backtracking. About the only thing I didn’t enjoy here was that once I was done for good in an area, the game kept its access open, making me think there was more to do. Thank goodness for that warp map! Really though, I got to know Silentville‘s layout pretty well and did not often get all “turned around”.Where the cracks showed in Silentville fell on some of the hidden object scenes that would have the gamer search for an item that happened to be hidden behind the game’s static lower screen inventory banner. Not a big deal, but it seemed to be most HO scenes, and it did cost me a few achievements in the game having to use the Hint to find those items.A few minor bellyaches: anyone else think “1 Moment of Time” is a strange title to a game? I mean, writing this post, I had to go back and correct how I wrote the title a few times. Why a numeral 1 in the title; why not ONE? This grated on me a little in a wordsmithing way. But, I suppose it’s not as bad as the rampant and obvious spelling errors throughout the game, for which there is numeral 0 excuse!Overall, 1 Moment of Time: Silentville has staying power and variety. Most of all, it’s fun! And at 0.59 cents on Steam, it has been a pleasant surprise!. Low budget in both senses. This is a perfectly fine generic HOG. There are many bug reports on the Steam forums, but I suspect all of the softlock / freeze type issues are just people bewildered by the game's unintuitive UI and lack of animation. The only trouble I had playing through to the end was a few objects positioned right at the bottom of a scene, making them very hard to see or click. Anyway, worth 99 cents.. i had this running and forgot i even bought it hahah, good game, but why called silentville?. I am not the biggest fan of point and click, especially hidden object games because I believe those should only be on mobile devices, but I will try to make a partial review for this.The game itself is okay and has good naration with it. I didn't get through the whole story because I got bored of the game (since hidden object games really bore me), but the game has some good design around it. However, there was one major problem with this game for me and that was that it lagged for me quite a bit. I have a gaming laptop and high end games run fine on my PC, but this game lagged so much as sometimes that it was a pain to play.I would not really recommend this game because it may not run smoothly on your PC. If you are a diehard fan of hidden object point and click games, perhaps you can try to make this game work smoothly, but otherwise, there is not big reason to get this game.Rating: 4.3/10Recommend Price: $0.49 or under. Hidden Object/Point & Click are not PC games.. The game is a better average, but short and buggy
